I have the honour to inform you that I have
appointed Mr. Stanley Hudson Dodwell with effect from the
6th April, 1936, provisionally, and subject to His Majesty's
pleasure, to be an Unofficial Member of the Legislative
Council of the Colony in place of Sir W. E. L. Shenton, Kt.,
who has tendered his resignation on leaving the Colony permanent-
ly.
2. Mr. Dodwell has previously been appointed to be temporarily an Unofficial Member of the Council and in this connection I would invite your attention to Sir William Peel's despatch No.564 of 5th November, 1934, and to despatch No.473
of 28th December, 1934, from Sir Philip Cunliffe-Lister (now
Lord Swinton).
3. I enclose a copy of the provisional instrument
for this appointment.
40 In accordance with Colonial Regulation No.155 I
enclose also a list of the present members of the Council.
